Year 2019

The European Patent Office commissioned us to design “Drafter,” a tool aimed at enhancing the efficiency of patent examiners by enabling them to annotate prior art and compare different versions of patents. The goal was to streamline the examination process, making it easier for examiners to track changes, identify critical differences, and make informed decisions.

Key Features:

Annotation Tools: Drafter includes robust tools for annotating prior art documents, allowing examiners to highlight, comment, and make notes directly on the digital documents.

Version Comparison: The tool enables side-by-side comparison of different patent versions, highlighting changes and differences automatically to aid in detailed examination.

Change Tracking: Examiners can track the history of changes made to patents, making it easier to review the evolution of a patent over time.

I had the opportunity to work with Agathe from July 2019 until October 2019 on a pilot project called “Paperless Workflow for Search”.

Agathe was in charge of providing new user flows, interactive prototypes and UX specifications for the developers. She designed few proposals in close collaboration with the users.

Not only Agathe delivered the mock-up in time but she also managed to grasp in an efficient way all the users requirements and be at the same time pro-active in proposing disruptive solutions that were adopted by the users.

Agathe is a very valuable team member and she has her share in the success of this pilot project.
